THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS ARE OPEN

  • As Resident Assistant (RA) you are prayerfully responsible for the successful functioning of the home and programming for afternoons & evenings as scheduled. 


    The responsibilities can be broken down into five areas: Safety, Schedule Adherence, Mentoring, Health Care & Domestic Skill Development. 


    The RA invests in relationships as a daily mentor and role model to residents for all aspects of Christian communal living. These activities include resident participation in a healthy evening/weekend routine (as indicated by the program structure), assisting in routine maintenance, food preparation, enforcement of rules & policies, ensuring the safety of each resident, promoting resident independence, dignity, & respect and facilitating the residents’

    healthcare.


    Safety

    1. Assures a therapeutic environment for residents, including resident rights, dignity, respect, privacy, education, and participation in program initiatives.

    2. Utilizes resident centered, strengths based, trauma-informed care and problem solving approach.

    3. Conduct monthly room and building check


    Schedule Adherence

    4. Maintains resident schedule in the evening or weekend to provide consistency, stability, and appropriate activities.

    5. Participates in routine communication between/among staff & residents.

    6. Update monthly wall calendar

    7. Assures residents' attendance at possible social activities.

    8. May assist in transportation to activities such as medical appointments, grocery shopping or social outings if appropriate.

    9. Provide a summary of tasks and hours worked reported through Trello.

    10. Attends all weekly Staff meetings and Monthly ‘Family Outings’.


    Mentoring

    11. Leads by example.

    12. Supervise all communication with resident’s outside contacts via phone, email, letter, and visits, etc.

    13. Creates an environment conducive to resident growth.

    14. Other duties as may be requested by Supervising Staff

    15. Teach a course or fill in the schedule, adapting to program and resident needs as set forth by treatment team

    16. Prepares to welcome new residents with a hospitable environment. Health Care and Domestic Skill Development

    17. Assures appropriate appearance, cleanliness, organization and orderliness of home environment.

    18. Assists residents in meal planning, preparation, and purchases for the home.

    19. Accurately record and dispense medications to residents as prescribed/recommended.

    20. Provide feedback to Treatment Team Staff regarding each residenton a bi-monthly basis regarding personal growth or to address any new or upcoming needs

    21. Guide residents in developing positive personal hygiene practices, healthy eating, and balanced health care.


    Professional Requirements:

    22. Models professionally appropriate dress, verbal, and behavioral interaction.

    23. Maintains resident confidentiality.

    24. Demonstrates ability to perform well under stress.

    25. Practices self-care and pursues counseling regularly

    26. Communicate complaints and/or suggestions professionally and through appropriate channels and promptly.

    27. Fulfills responsibilities in a reliable and dependable manner and uses time effectively.

    28. Demonstrates highly effective communication skills.

    29. Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

    30. Pursues opportunities and annually attends a minimum of 15 Continuing Education Units assuring topics related to the work and ministry at Eden’s Glory.

    31. Other duties as may be requested by Executive Leadership


    Skills:

    Demonstrates organizational, verbal, interpersonal, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling,

    reading/comprehension of written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer skills.


    Job Knowledge:

    Knowledge of local/global human trafficking issues including common processes, prevalence, and appropriate interventions.


    Education/Experience:

    - Value and pursue advancing education. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

    - Previous exposure/work related to field of human trafficking, social service, clinical therapy, or other related human services, preferred.

    - Previous experience in leadership role, or sufficient demonstration of life experiences that would provide a good basis for mentoring responsibilities.

    - Profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
