Outreach for the Incarcerated

For over a decade, Eden's Glory has prayed for a way into the minimum-security women's prison just down the road from us — home to many women serving time for the very exploitation we exist to help women heal from. This year, that door finally opened.
It came through a new prison ministry started by Pastor Justin of Greenville Free Methodist Church and Natalie of St. Paul's Free Methodist Church, who began leading monthly chapel services inside the facility. When several women asked to be baptized, our Spiritual Director, Wendy — also an ordained Free Methodist pastor — stepped in. Eleven women were baptized.
Since then, Wendy and our Clinical Director, Meghan, have returned regularly for chapel and relationship-building, meeting with 10 to 20 women each visit. What began as one pastor filling one need has become an open door for an entire ministry: Pastor Justin has asked Eden's Glory to take over the women's prison ministry, and Wendy and Meghan are now completing FCI Volunteer Training to enter without an escort.
Our hope is to lead Bible studies, teach classes, and walk alongside these women toward life after their sentence. That matters because too often, the person waiting on release day is her trafficker. Within hours, she's back in the life she just did time for.
Pray with us: for trust to grow inside those walls, and for a better life to be waiting when these women walk out.
